A disturbing case has emerged from Bengaluru where a 26-year-old former marketing executive, identified as Darshan Kumar Yadav, has been apprehended by the Kumbalagudu police. He is accused of the brutal murder of his girlfriend Shilpa S K’s seven-year-old daughter, Siri S. The motive for this heinous crime is believed to be the child’s alleged disruption of the couple’s private moments.
Darshan Kumar Yadav was on the run for a day before being apprehended near Tumakuru Road on Monday evening. The victim, Siri S, was a student in Class 2 at a government school in Ramasandra village, Kengeri. She resided with her mother, Shilpa, who had separated from her husband and was raising Siri as a single parent.
According to police reports, Darshan, who previously worked for a paint company, began a relationship with Shilpa, a business development officer. Following the death of Shilpa’s foster mother in August, Darshan allegedly started pressuring Shilpa to send Siri to a hostel. He claimed the child’s presence interfered with their relationship. When Shilpa refused, Darshan reportedly became violent, engaging in frequent arguments, assaulting her, and even issuing threats against both mother and daughter.
The tragic events unfolded on October 23rd when Darshan stayed overnight at Shilpa’s residence. The following morning, after Shilpa left for work, Darshan took Siri to his own home. Later that evening, he called Shilpa, urgently requesting her return. Shilpa claims she heard her daughter crying over the phone and rushed back around 6:30 pm.
Upon her arrival, Darshan allegedly attacked Shilpa and confined her to a room. After managing to escape, Shilpa discovered Siri lying lifeless in a pool of blood. Investigations revealed that Darshan had repeatedly slammed the child’s head against the floor before suffocating her. During his confession, Darshan stated he considered Shilpa his wife, though she identified herself as his girlfriend in her official complaint.
Authorities also noted that Darshan had a history of engaging in toxic relationships, often forming connections with women through Instagram.
