In a dramatic display of discontent, activists from the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a black flag protest against Minister V.N. Vasavan, who oversees Devaswom, Ports, and Cooperation, in Kannur, Kerala, on Thursday morning. The primary catalyst for this demonstration was the alleged gold theft that occurred at the sacred Sabarimala temple.
The protest, meticulously planned by the BJYM Kannur North District committee, unfolded at approximately 9:30 a.m. as the Minister’s convoy made its way towards the Azhikkal port, where he was slated to attend an official meeting.
Positioned strategically along the Padannapalam road, the activists enthusiastically waved black flags as the Minister’s police-escorted convoy sped past. Their voices resonated with fervent demands for the Minister’s immediate resignation, as they held him accountable for the controversial gold theft incident at Sabarimala.
Despite the activists’ determined efforts, their display of black flags was fleeting, given the rapid pace of the convoy. A robust police presence at the protest site effectively ensured that the Minister’s scheduled engagements proceeded without significant interruption.
