The powerful Cyclone Montha, bringing with it devastating flash floods, has led to the collapse of the ancestral home of the revered 16th-century Hindu saint and visionary, Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday in the Brahmamgari Matam mandal of Kadapa district.
Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy is widely known as the ‘Indian Nostradamus,’ celebrated for his prophetic writings titled ‘Kalagnana Thathvam.’ This compilation contains a series of future predictions, many of which are believed to have already materialized. The town of Brahmamgari Matam, where the saint’s home stood, is itself named in his honor and serves as a significant pilgrimage site, attracting devotees and tourists from across South India who seek to visit his sacred abode.
In response to this unfortunate loss, R. Srinivasa Reddy, president of the Kadapa district Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has brought the issue to the attention of Collector Sreedhar Cherukuri. He urged the authorities to allocate necessary funds for the urgent restoration of this invaluable structure, emphasizing its profound historical and cultural importance.
