In the wake of Cyclone Montha’s devastating impact, Pudi Kiran Kumar, president of the Srikakulam District Youth Congress, has urgently appealed to the government for comprehensive relief efforts in the district’s remote and hardest-hit regions.
On Wednesday, Kiran Kumar, alongside Boddepalli Sriramachandra Murthy, president of the Srirama Raksha Charitable Foundation, personally visited Donkuru village in Ichchapuram mandal – one of the areas severely affected by the cyclone. There, they distributed crucial aid including fruits, biscuits, and other essential commodities to the struggling villagers.
Highlighting the immense suffering, Kiran Kumar emphasized that residents in coastal mandals such as Ichachapuram, Sompeta, and Mandasa are enduring immense hardships as a direct result of the cyclone’s powerful force.
He specifically called upon Srikakulam Special Officer K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu and in-charge Collector Farman Ahmed Khan to inspect the damaged areas firsthand. Furthermore, he urged them to swiftly announce and implement relief measures tailored for farmers whose valuable coconut and cashew plantations have suffered extensive damage from the torrential rains over the past few days.
