Rahul Gandhi Accuses BJP of ‘Remote Controlling’ Nitish Kumar in Bihar

In a fiery address in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing them of pulling the strings behind Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government. Gandhi stated that Nitish Kumar’s leadership is merely a facade, with the BJP holding the ‘remote control’ and effectively dictating the state’s direction.

Gandhi further alleged that the voices of backward and marginalized communities are being suppressed, claiming that decision-making power rests with a select few within the BJP. He reiterated his party’s stance on social justice, asserting that the ruling party lacks any genuine commitment to equality.

Highlighting his persistent demand for a caste census, Gandhi pointed out the Prime Minister’s silence on the matter in Parliament. “I said in front of the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha that you should get the caste census done. He did not say a single word… BJP is against social justice. They do not want it,” he stated.

Sharpening his critique of the Bihar government, Gandhi questioned Nitish Kumar’s two-decade tenure, asserting that the people of Bihar have been denied progress. “Biharis have no future in Bihar. This is your truth,” Gandhi declared, challenging the chief minister’s claims of being ‘extremely backward’ given the state’s unmet needs in education, health, and employment.

Gandhi’s remarks come in response to recent criticism from the BJP, including a social media post by Amit Malviya mocking his absence from Bihar. The BJP leader had accused Gandhi of neglecting the state while prioritizing vacations and video blogging.

The political landscape in Bihar is heating up as the state heads for polls on November 6 and 11, with the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan coalition as the main contenders. The RJD-led Mahagathbandhan includes the Congress, while the NDA comprises the BJP and JD(U), among others. Tejashwi Yadav is the chief ministerial face for the Mahagathbandhan.
