With Cyclone Montha bearing down on the Andhra Pradesh coast, Nadendla Manohar, chairman of the Jana Sena Party’s (JSP) political affairs committee and State Minister for Civil Supplies, has issued an urgent call to action. He has urged all party leaders, devoted Jana sainiks, and Veera Mahilas to take the forefront in relief and rescue operations, ensuring active cooperation with government machinery to mitigate the cyclone’s impact and safeguard public well-being.
During a teleconference held on Tuesday morning (October 28, 2025), attended by Jana Sena MPs, MLAs, MLCs, corporation chairpersons, and grassroots workers, Mr. Manohar stressed the critical need for field-level volunteers to operate with a precise action plan, primarily focused on preventing any loss of life.
Acting under the direct guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Manohar instructed party cadres to remain accessible to residents in cyclone-affected areas. They are tasked with providing crucial assistance to government officials and actively disseminating official safety guidelines and precautionary measures among the public.
Highlighting significant government initiatives, Mr. Manohar proudly announced that the State has decided to provide tarpaulins to farmers completely free of charge. This measure aims to protect their crops from potential rain damage. He noted that while previous schemes offered tarpaulins at a 50% subsidy, the current coalition government is providing them entirely free.
He further recalled Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s personal engagement with distressed farmers during the previous administration, where he attentively listened to their grievances and struggles.
The Minister also confirmed that paddy procurement has already commenced, with specific instructions issued to officials to purchase even grain that has been affected by rain. In anticipation of the cyclone’s severe impact, the government has additionally moved to release November’s ration supplies to all households in advance.
Mr. Manohar also implored Jana Sena leaders to ensure continuous availability of petrol and diesel, and to keep generators on standby for any emergency requirements. He mandated that party representatives continue their unwavering support to citizens even after the cyclone has passed, until complete normalcy is restored across all affected regions.
Joining the teleconference were Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, MLC K. Nagababu, and Government whip in the Legislative Council Pidugu Hariprasad. Mr. Hariprasad emphasized the necessity for party cadres in each coastal area to form small service teams of 15-20 members, facilitating coordinated relief efforts, particularly in vulnerable areas such as Kakinada and Pithapuram.
He highlighted that local Jana sainiks have already proactively established WhatsApp groups and dedicated helplines to ensure rapid response to distress calls. “The upcoming two days are absolutely crucial. We must operate as a unified team to ensure there is no loss of life,” Mr. Hariprasad reiterated.
Mr. Nagababu added that, consistent with Pawan Kalyan’s directives, Jana Sena volunteers are committed not only to delivering essential services but also to keeping the public thoroughly informed and vigilant about evolving weather conditions.
