Authorities have uncovered a startling plot involving a staged acid attack. Police investigations suggest that a Delhi University student, who claimed to be a victim of an acid assault, actually faked the entire incident. The student reportedly acted on her father’s instructions, motivated by a desire for revenge related to a rape complaint.
The student’s father has been arrested for allegedly orchestrating the fake acid attack using toilet cleaner. He is also accused of raping the wife of the man his daughter had accused of attacking her. Investigations indicate that the father sought to frame the accuser and his relatives due to existing disputes.
The alleged perpetrator, who was in hiding after a rape case was filed against him, reportedly confessed to police that he and his daughter fabricated the acid attack story to falsely implicate the woman’s husband and his relatives. The police stated that the accuser’s wife had previously filed a complaint against the student’s father, accusing him of rape and blackmail during her employment at his factory between 2021 and 2024.
The case took a dramatic turn after the student initially claimed that three men on a motorcycle had thrown acid at her on her way to college. She was hospitalized with burn injuries. However, initial police statements indicating a stalking motive were revised as contradictions emerged in the student’s account. CCTV footage and call detail records reportedly challenge her initial statement, leading investigators to believe she used household toilet cleaner to self-inflict injuries and stage the attack.
The man accused of stalking the student voluntarily appeared at the police station and his alibi was confirmed by mobile phone data, CCTV footage, and witness statements. Additionally, the other individuals named in the attack were confirmed to be in Agra during the incident. The woman who accused the student’s father of rape is reportedly a distant relative of the accused and had herself been an acid attack victim in 2018, currently involved in a property dispute with him.
