In a heart-wrenching incident from Hyderabad, a 52-year-old man tragically took his own life on Sunday at his home in HUDA Colony, Chandanagar. Authorities believe this desperate act was a direct consequence of being allegedly defrauded of a substantial sum – ₹13 lakh – by his former employer.
The man, identified as Kasi Reddy Purushotham Reddy, had once worked as a driver for Jai Kumar Santhamma Rajan Babu, a resident of Kerala. According to a formal complaint filed by Purushotham Reddy’s 23-year-old son, Kasi Reddy Harinath Reddy, his father had loaned ₹13 lakh to Rajan Babu approximately seven years ago. Despite numerous attempts and pleas, the money was never returned. Police sources from Chandanagar confirmed that Purushotham Reddy had himself borrowed this considerable amount from others, adding to his immense financial strain.
The tragic discovery was made on October 26, around 5:30 p.m., when Harinath Reddy received a distressing call from his brother-in-law, B. Dinesh Kumar Reddy, informing him of his father’s death by suicide. By the time Harinath reached their home, emergency medical personnel (108 ambulance staff) had already moved his father’s body to the bed.
Just three months prior to this tragedy, Purushotham Reddy had left his position with Rajan Babu, relocating to Hyderabad with the hope of securing new employment and providing a fresh start for his family. Following his son’s complaint, a formal case has been registered, and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this deeply unfortunate event is now in progress.
