The Tamil Nadu Disaster Risk Reduction Agency (TNDRRA) has issued a directive, urging all government departments and local bodies to intensify their readiness for potential heavy rainfall. The agency emphasized the critical need for comprehensive preparedness measures to manage any emergencies arising from severe weather warnings.
Specifically, the TNDRRA has instructed the Greater Chennai Corporation and the Collectors of Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Ranipet districts to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) designed for disaster response.
In a proactive move, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, personally visited the State Emergency Operations Centre in Chennai earlier this week. His visit focused on reviewing the ongoing monsoon preparedness efforts and ensuring that all arrangements are in place.
