Visakhapatnam is currently on high alert as Cyclone Montha bears down on the region, leading to widespread disruption in railway services. In response to the severe weather threat, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has initiated precautionary measures, including the cancellation of several coaching and passenger trains over the next few days to ensure the safety of commuters.
Passengers with travel plans on October 27 and 28, 2025, should be aware of the following cancelled services:
- The 18515 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Night express, scheduled to depart from Visakhapatnam on October 27.
- The 18516 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Night express, departing from Kirandul on October 28.
- The 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger train, leaving Visakhapatnam on October 28.
- The 58502 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Passenger train, leaving Kirandul on October 28.
- The 58538 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger service, departing Visakhapatnam on October 28.
- The 58537 Passenger train, originating from Koraput on October 28.
Additionally, several express and MEMU services have been cancelled in both directions for October 28, 2025:
- The 67285/67286 Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam-Rajahmundry MEMU.
- The 17267/17268 Kakinada-Visakhapatnam-Kakinada express.
- The 22875/22876 Visakhapatnam-Guntur-Visakhapatnam Double Decker Uday Express.

Further, a limited number of long-distance trains that either originate from or terminate at Visakhapatnam Junction have also been cancelled, with some cancellations extending into October 29. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager B. Pavan Kumar issued a statement on Monday (October 27, 2025), urging all affected passengers to promptly consult their respective railway enquiry offices or the official railway website for the most accurate and current information regarding train schedules and cancellations before embarking on their journeys.
