Relief washes over Kakinada as Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, P. Narayana, announced the safe return of all 616 fishing boats from the Bay of Bengal. Fishermen, including those operating mechanized vessels, heeded the district’s urgent call to suspend operations due to an impending cyclone, safely making their way back to the Kakinada coast by Monday, October 27. This positive update was shared during a crucial preparedness meeting with MLAs and Members of Parliament.
Boosting Post-Cyclone Recovery: 1000 Personnel Arrive for Power Restoration
Addressing the critical post-landfall recovery, Minister Narayana confirmed robust measures are in place. An impressive contingent of 1000 electricity department personnel from the Rayalaseema region has already arrived in Kakinada district to spearhead the crucial electricity restoration drive. “We have a sufficient number of Electricity department personnel to complete the restoration drive along the Kakinada coast once the cyclone makes its landfall,” assured Mr. Narayana, highlighting the comprehensive planning.
These vital preparedness activities saw the active participation of key officials, including Kakinada District Collector S. Shan Mohan, Kakinada Rajya Sabha MP Sana Sateesh, Kakinada City MLA Tangella Uday Srinivas, and Special Officer V.R. Krishna Teja, all working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
