The Bapatla District administration is actively intensifying its preparedness efforts in anticipation of Cyclone Montha, which is projected to impact the region starting October 27.
District Collector Dr. V. Vinod Kumar spearheaded a comprehensive review meeting on Sunday morning. Conducted virtually from the District Collectorate Command Control Room’s new video conference facility, the session brought together a wide array of officials. This included various district officers, municipal commissioners, Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs), tahsildars, and representatives from diverse departments at both district and mandal levels. The primary objective was to thoroughly assess current readiness levels and meticulously coordinate response strategies.
The Collector issued clear directives, urging all officials to maintain a state of high alert. He emphasized the crucial need to implement every possible precautionary measure to mitigate potential damage and ensure the utmost safety of the public. RDO Gangadhar Goud also participated in this vital meeting, alongside numerous department heads who joined the conference virtually from across the district.
