Mysuru’s railway services are facing significant disruptions, with authorities announcing the cancellation of several special train pairs. The primary reason cited for these changes is surprisingly low passenger occupancy, prompting railway officials to adjust their schedules.
Travelers planning journeys between Mysuru and Tirunelveli should note the following cancellations: Train No. 06239 Mysuru-Tirunelveli Express Special will not operate on Mondays from October 27 through November 24. Its return service, Train No. 06240 Tirunelveli-Mysuru Express Special, is also canceled on Tuesdays from October 28 to November 25.
Further impacting long-distance routes, Train No. 06243 Mysuru-Karaikkudi Express Special will be suspended on Thursdays and Saturdays from October 30 to November 29. The corresponding inbound journey, Train No. 06244 Karaikkudi-Mysuru Express Special, will be canceled on Fridays and Sundays from October 31 to November 30.
Additionally, the Mysuru-Ramanathapuram route sees immediate changes. Train No. 06237 Mysuru-Ramanathapuram Express Special is canceled on Monday, October 27, with its counterpart, Train No. 06238 Ramanathapuram-Mysuru Express Special, also canceled on Tuesday, October 28.
Beyond cancellations, several other train services originating from Mysuru will experience significant delays and partial route changes. These additional disruptions are due to ongoing Road Under Bridge (RUB) construction work between Mysuru New Goods Terminal and Naganahalli, which requires careful regulation of rail traffic.
For commuters heading to MGR Chennai Central, Train No. 16552 Ashokapuram-MGR Chennai Central Express will be rescheduled on specific dates: October 29 & 31; November 19, 21, 26, & 28; and December 17 & 19. Departures from Ashokapuram will be delayed by 40 minutes on these days.
Similarly, the Train No. 66554 Ashokapuram-KSR Bengaluru MEMU, running on the same dates (October 29 & 31; November 19, 21, 26, & 28; and December 17 & 19), will also depart 45 minutes late from Ashokapuram.
Passengers on Train No. 16586 Murdeshwar-KSR Bengaluru Express, scheduled for October 28 & 30; November 18, 20, 25, & 27; and December 16 & 18, should anticipate delays of up to 90 minutes en route.
The Train No. 06270 SMVT Bengaluru-Mysuru Passenger, operating on October 28 & 30; November 18, 20, 25, & 27; and December 16 & 18, will face en route delays of approximately 100 minutes.
Finally, the Train No. 66579 KSR Bengaluru-Ashokapuram MEMU, for services on October 29 & 31; November 19, 21, 26, & 28; and December 17 & 19, will be regulated by 60 minutes en route. This particular service will also be partially canceled between Pandavapura and Ashokapuram, meaning it will terminate at Pandavapura. Consequently, the return Train No. 66554 Ashokapuram-KSR Bengaluru MEMU on these dates will commence its journey from Pandavapura instead of Ashokapuram, affecting passengers traveling from Ashokapuram.
