Between October 18 and 25, the Cyberabad Women and Children Safety Wing carried out a series of vigorous operations and crucial awareness campaigns, focusing on the well-being and security of women and children in the region.
Highlighting their commitment, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) executed targeted night raids. These operations led to the apprehension of 10 individuals involved in sex work and one transgender person. Crucially, a trafficking victim was safely rescued, and four suspects were arrested under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (PITA).
The dedicated Cyberabad SHE Teams were exceptionally active, performing 135 decoy operations throughout the week. Their efforts resulted in 55 individuals being caught for indecent public behavior. While 51 petty cases were filed, others received counseling. The SHE Teams also processed 25 new complaints from women, channeled through various platforms.
Beyond enforcement, the Safety Wing orchestrated 72 awareness programs across different localities and facilitated five counseling sessions at their Cyberabad center. Furthermore, significant progress was made in mediating marital disputes, successfully reuniting 26 families with assistance from Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres.
The extensive outreach included additional awareness initiatives conducted throughout Cyberabad, engaging approximately 130 participants. These vital sessions educated the public on critical issues such as human trafficking (including child trafficking), eve-teasing, online harassment, child marriages, child rights, child labor, stalking, forced begging, cyber-bullying, and various cyber frauds. A key focus was also placed on promoting the use of emergency helplines: Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, Dial 100, and Crimes 1930.
