Following a tragic firecracker blast on October 19, 2025, at the ANL parcel counter in Parvatipuram, Telugu Desam Party MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra announced on Saturday, October 25, that the State government has released ₹9.75 lakh in compensation. This vital financial aid is designated for the treatment of four severely injured laborers—Ravi, Reddi Ramesh, K. Ramesh, and B. Sundara Rao—enabling them to receive advanced medical care in corporate hospitals.
According to a statement from his office, the MLA had diligently brought the gravity of the situation to the notice of Transport Minister Mandapalli Ram Prasad Reddy and APSRTC Managing Director Dwaraka Tirumala Rao. Mr. Vijaya Chandra underscored that the incident was a direct consequence of negligence by ANL services, which allegedly permitted the transportation of highly explosive parcels within APSRTC vehicles without adequate safety checks. His prompt intervention and discussions with both Minister Ram Prasad Reddy and Mr. Tirumala Rao in Vijayawada were instrumental in securing the swift release of funds within a week, thereby ensuring uninterrupted and quality treatment for the victims.
