In a disturbing incident from Delhi’s Sarita Vihar, a man was brutally attacked with an iron rod by two individuals. The assault reportedly stemmed from a property dispute, where one of the assailants suspected the victim of informing authorities about an illegal construction that had recently been demolished, police confirmed on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
A shocking video purportedly showing the attack has since circulated widely across social media platforms.
Authorities were first alerted to the incident on Friday, October 24, at approximately 1:04 PM, after receiving a report from Apollo Hospital. A police team promptly arrived at the hospital to begin their initial investigation.
The victim was identified as Raghuraj Singh, a resident of Aali village and an employee at an MCD school. He suffered severe injuries to both of his legs during the assault.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the attack occurred around noon on Friday while Mr. Singh was driving to school. As his car approached the Aali Extension on Mathura Road, two men on a motorcycle suddenly blocked his path. They then shattered his car’s windshield before physically assaulting him with an iron rod.
Police have identified the primary accused as Mohit, also known as Poli, who is also a resident of Aali village. His accomplice, however, remains unidentified.
The police statement indicated that the motive behind this violent act appears to be a long-standing personal dispute over property. Approximately two years prior, Mr. Mohit had acquired a plot in Aali Extension and proceeded with construction. However, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) carried out a demolition drive in the area just last month.
“The accused harbored suspicions that Mr. Raghuraj was responsible for lodging a complaint with the DDA, which subsequently led to the demolition action,” stated Hemant Tiwari, DCP (Southeast), in an official announcement.
A case has been officially registered under the pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and efforts are actively ongoing to apprehend the accused individuals.
