A horrifying incident unfolded on October 24, 2025, near Chinnatekuru village in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, where a luxury private bus, en route from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, erupted in flames. This tragic event has reportedly claimed the lives of 19 passengers who were charred to death, leaving several others with injuries.
The devastating fire engulfed the bus close to Ullandakonda village, located just 18 kilometers from Kurnool. At the time of the catastrophe, a total of 43 individuals were on board the ill-fated vehicle.
Initial reports suggest a combination of factors led to this disaster. P. Venkata Ramana, the in-charge Director-General of A.P. State Disaster Response and Fire Services, stated that excessive speed, low visibility, and a critical fuel leakage after the bus collided with a motorcycle were the primary causes. The bike reportedly became lodged beneath the sleeper coach, triggering the blaze.
Brave firemen, aided by local residents and other responders, worked tirelessly to extinguish the inferno and transport the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention. A thorough and detailed investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident is currently underway.
