Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has voiced profound shock and indignation following a disturbing alleged sexual assault attempt on a young female student at the Tuni Rural Gurukulam School in Kakinada district. The accused has been identified as Tatika Narayana Rao.
Initial reports indicate that police acted swiftly upon receiving news of the incident, registering a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and promptly arresting the individual involved.
In a strong statement issued on Wednesday, Minister Lokesh affirmed the government’s unwavering resolve to tackle such heinous acts with an “iron hand.” He issued a stern warning that all individuals implicated in these crimes would face rigorous punishment, with absolutely no leniency shown.
The Minister also reassured the public that the victim is receiving comprehensive counseling and all essential support to aid her recovery from this traumatic experience. Furthermore, he has directed officials to implement heightened security protocols for all girl students residing in Gurukulam institutions and welfare hostels throughout Andhra Pradesh, aiming to prevent any recurrence of similar incidents.
