In a deeply disturbing incident that has shocked the nation, a 25-year-old man from the Scheduled Castes (SC) community in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district was brutally assaulted and subjected to a horrific act of being forced to consume urine. Authorities have confirmed the arrest of three individuals in connection with this heinous crime.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the primary accused targeted the victim because he had recently stopped working as his driver. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital, and a thorough investigation into the matter is actively ongoing, according to officials.
The victim recounted a terrifying ordeal, stating that on Monday, October 20, 2025, three individuals abducted him from Gwalior. He was then transported to Bhind in a vehicle, where he was violently beaten and coerced into drinking urine, as detailed by Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Pathak. The victim hails from Akutpura village, located within the Surpura police station jurisdiction in Bhind.
Recounting his harrowing experience to reporters, the victim stated he was forcibly taken from his in-laws’ residence in Gwalior’s Deendayal Nagar and transported to Bhind in an SUV. He alleged that he was severely beaten with a plastic pipe, and during the journey, the perpetrators stopped the vehicle to force him to drink urine from a bottle.
Upon reaching Akutpura village, the victim claimed he was further brutalized, tied with an iron chain, and again forced to drink urine. An official confirmed that the victim previously worked as a driver for the main accused, Sonu Barua, from Datawali village. It appears Barua targeted him after the victim ceased his employment. Mr. Pathak confirmed that the victim remains hospitalized for his injuries.
Mr. Pathak announced that a formal case has been filed against the perpetrators under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, alongside relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, covering charges of kidnapping, assault, and inhumane treatment. The three individuals arrested in connection with this case are Sonu Barua, Alok Sharma, and Chhotu Ojha.
This recent incident sadly follows closely on the heels of another similar atrocity just days prior, where a Scheduled Caste youth in Katni district, who had been protesting against illegal mining, was allegedly beaten and urinated upon by four individuals.
Adding to the pattern of such disturbing incidents, police had previously reported in May that a man was abducted from Guna district after a dispute. He was then transported to Rajasthan, where he was reportedly forced to drink urine and paraded in women’s clothing.
Earlier this year in March, another man in Ujjain district was reportedly beaten, forced to drink urine, and made to wear a garland of shoes after eloping with a married woman. These incidents echo the widespread national outrage caused in July 2023 by a viral video showing a man urinating on a tribal person in Sidhi district.
