The Congress party recently unveiled an additional list of six candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, bringing their total number of declared nominees to 60.
This latest announcement, made in the early hours, highlights the ongoing internal struggle within the Mahagathbandhan. Despite being key partners, the RJD and Congress have yet to finalize a formal seat-sharing agreement, indicating lingering disagreements.
The newly released list features Surendra Prasad Kushwaha contesting from Valmiki Nagar, Abidur Rehman from Araria, Jalil Mastan from Amour, Tauquir Alam from Barari, Praveen Singh Kushwaha from Kahalgaon, and Vinod Chaudhary from Sikandra (SC).
Tensions within the INDIA bloc in Bihar became glaringly apparent recently, as numerous aspirants from both the RJD and Congress openly accused their party leadership of engaging in ‘cash-for-ticket’ practices.
With the deadline for filing nominations for the second and final phase looming, both the Congress and RJD have continued the process of issuing party symbols to their chosen candidates.
Earlier, the Congress had announced its initial list of 48 candidates, including State unit chief Rajesh Ram from Kutumba and CLP leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan from Kadwa. This was followed by a singular announcement of Rishi Mishra for the Jale constituency.
Subsequently, the party revealed another list comprising five candidates.
