Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali alongside armed forces personnel aboard the INS Vikrant, positioned off the coast of Goa. During his address, he praised the INS Vikrant, remarking that the aircraft carrier’s name alone is enough to cause “sleepless nights” in Pakistan.
“We witnessed recently how the very name of Vikrant, purely through its identity, gave Pakistan sleepless nights,” stated PM Modi, referencing the significant impact of the vessel. He also expressed his delight in celebrating the festival of lights with the brave soldiers.
The Prime Minister drew a parallel between the vastness of the ocean and the armed forces, saying, “Today, on one side I have infinite horizons, infinite sky, and on the other side I have this giant, INS Vikrant, embodying infinite powers. The glow of the sun’s rays on the ocean’s waters is like the Diwali lamps lit by brave soldiers.”
Recalling historical successes, PM Modi mentioned that the strong coordination between the Army, Navy, and Air Force was instrumental in forcing Pakistan’s swift surrender during Operation Sindoor. He emphasized the strategic advantage of possessing robust fighting capabilities, stating, “When the enemy is in front of you, when there’s a threat of war, the one who has the strength to fight on their own always holds the upper hand.”
Expressing his personal connection with the armed forces, whom he considers family, PM Modi conveyed the special significance of celebrating Diwali with them. “I am also spending quality time with my family here. This Diwali is truly special for me…,” he added.
