A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday when a fire erupted in a Mumbai chawl located in the Cuffe Parade area. The blaze, which broke out around 4:15 am in Shivshakti Nagar on Captain Prakash Pethe Marg, tragically claimed the life of 15-year-old Yash Vitthal Khot. Three other individuals sustained injuries and were promptly taken to St. George’s Hospital for treatment.
The fire reportedly originated in a 10×10 feet area on the first floor of the single-storey chawl. Officials stated that the fire was contained within the affected area, primarily damaging electric wiring, installations, three electric vehicle batteries, and household items. Firefighters responded swiftly, with the blaze being brought under control by 4:35 am.
