K.T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has declared that the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election on November 11th will be a critical test of the Congress government’s performance, specifically evaluating its administrative capabilities, effectiveness in maintaining law and order, and overall credibility.
Rama Rao sharply criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration, likening it to a ‘bulldozer governance’ model that has plunged the state into administrative disarray. He asserted, “Ever since the Congress government took office, both Hyderabad’s progress and Telangana’s broader development have stalled completely.”
Addressing the contentious issue of Backward Class (BC) reservations, he accused the Congress party of betraying these communities with poorly conceived and legally questionable policies. He challenged both the Congress and the BJP to prove their commitment by having their Members of Parliament actively advocate for a constitutional amendment to pass a comprehensive BC Bill.
Regarding various controversies surrounding the ministers, Rama Rao alleged that the Congress cabinet has devolved into an arena of infighting, driven by a pursuit of “commissions” and internal power struggles. He claimed, “Whether it’s projects like Medaram Jatara, tender distributions, or clearing bills, Congress ministers appear to be solely focused on their own personal enrichment.”
The former Minister also voiced strong criticism against the Congress government for neglecting crucial infrastructure initiatives such as the Airport Metro Express and Metro Phase-II projects. He dramatically stated that the Chief Minister’s actions have effectively “poured cold water” on Hyderabad’s future development.
Rama Rao cautioned that a victory for the Congress in the Jubilee Hills by-election would only empower the government to dismantle the welfare and development programs established during the BRS administration. Earlier in the day, at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao extended a welcome to several senior leaders joining the BRS party.
