An Air India flight from Milan, Italy, to Delhi, originally scheduled for Friday, October 17, has been cancelled because of a technical snag. This unexpected cancellation has disrupted the Diwali travel plans for hundreds of passengers.
Air India has stated that all passengers on the affected flight, AI138, have been given hotel accommodations. The flight was carrying 256 passengers and 10 crew members.
The airline has arranged alternative flights for the stranded passengers, with new travel dates set for Monday, October 20, which is Diwali this year. In a specific case, Air India made special arrangements for one passenger whose Schengen visa was set to expire on October 20, allowing her to travel to India on October 19 to ensure she met her visa validity requirements.
