The Pune Racecourse was buzzing with excitement on Saturday morning as several magnificent horses took to the inner sand track for their routine exercises. Among them, two names shone particularly bright: Giacomo and Black Magician, both delivering truly captivating performances.
The day began with a series of spirited gallops. Over 600 meters, Credence exhibited a comfortable pace, while Hilma Klint moved with noticeable freedom. As distances increased to 800 meters, Densetsu impressed with a strong workout, and Grey Beauty showed intensity, pressing hard. Ange Raphael moved with grace and efficiency. Two promising two-year-olds, Sporting Chance/Invicta and Starlight Serenade, showcased good synchronization, moving level and freely. She’s My Gal and Lion King also demonstrated effortless movement, while Western Star put in a commendable effort. House Of Lords had an easy run, and Yuletide performed admirably. Northern Singer completed the circuit with fluent strides.
Moving onto the 1000-meter drills, Caccini demonstrated its power, pressing strongly, and Irish Gold executed a fine run, moving well. For the 1200-meter distance, Odysseus and Tiepolo maintained a steady, level pace throughout their exercise.
However, it was Giacomo who truly stole the show in its 1400-meter workout. Under jockey S. Amit, the horse moved with remarkable impressiveness, signaling top form.
Later in the morning, the focus shifted to gate practice on the inner sand. The two-year-old Black Magician was a sight to behold during its 1000-meter gate session, moving attractively and with great promise. Other young talents, Radiant Reign and Chilton Lodge, also performed well, staying neck and neck in their free movements. Akitana showed a clear advantage over Reine Etoile, finishing three lengths ahead. Finally, You demonstrated a strong start, jumping out of the gate with confidence.
