In a significant move to support women shoppers, the Kerala government has announced a new initiative offering a 10% discount on all non-subsidized products at Supplyco outlets across the state.
This special concession provides additional savings on top of the already competitive, below-market rates for various branded essentials. Women customers can enjoy reduced prices on items such as branded rice, cooking oils, soaps, detergents, toothpaste, jaggery, shallots, onions, and a variety of curry powders and spices, among other household staples.
Introducing Privilege Cards and Expansion Plans
Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil also revealed plans to introduce privilege cards for Supplyco customers. These cards will enable shoppers to accumulate points with each purchase, which can then be redeemed for future discounts, adding further value to their shopping experience.
Looking ahead, the government aims to transform 30 existing Maveli stores into expansive supermarkets and establish six new Civil Supplies petrol pumps across Kerala, significantly broadening Supplyco’s retail footprint.
Minister Anil assured that Supplyco remains committed to passing on the full price benefits of the new GST regime directly to consumers. Additionally, the government has initiated discussions with mill owners to process rice procured from local paddy farmers within the state, with the goal of making this rice available for sale through Supplyco outlets, thereby supporting local agriculture.
