Nandyal police recently demonstrated remarkable efficiency by tracking down and recovering a handbag filled with gold jewelry, which a woman had inadvertently left behind in an auto-rickshaw. The entire process, from complaint to recovery, took just a few hours.
According to Nandyal Circle Inspector G. Sudhakar Reddy, the police received a complaint from Nadigadda resident Shaik Rahiman. He reported that his wife had forgotten her handbag in an auto while traveling from Nadigadda to the Railway Station. The bag contained a significant amount of gold, including an eight-tola necklace and another tola of assorted ornaments.
Responding promptly, police officers meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from the RTC bus stand and the command control center. Their diligent efforts quickly led them to identify the auto-rickshaw in Viswa Nagar and its driver, Mabu Hussain. The valuable bag was successfully recovered from the vehicle.
The bag, along with all the gold ornaments intact, was subsequently handed over to the overjoyed complainant. Inspector Reddy highlighted the speed of the operation, stating, “The police received the complaint around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and the auto was traced and handbag returned to the complainant by 8 p.m.” This swift action underscores the dedication of the Nandyal police in serving their community.
