In a landmark event for India’s defence sector, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, officially flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced at the BrahMos Aerospace unit in Lucknow. This significant occasion was celebrated on Saturday.
This achievement is hailed not only as a crucial milestone for the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) but also as a powerful catalyst for bolstering India’s commitment to self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The successful production of the BrahMos supersonic missile system marks a new era for indigenous defence capabilities.
BrahMos Aerospace has successfully completed the initial production run of the missile system from its state-of-the-art integration and test facility located in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow. This advanced facility, which commenced operations on May 11, 2025, is equipped with all the necessary modern infrastructure for the seamless integration, rigorous testing, and final quality assurance of the missiles.
Following their successful testing and validation, these indigenously manufactured BrahMos missiles are now ready for deployment by the Indian armed forces, enhancing the nation’s strategic defense posture. The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, and other distinguished officials.
