Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to all citizens on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. He shared his wishes on X (formerly Twitter), expressing prayers for everyone’s happiness, prosperity, and good health. “May Lord Dhanvantari bestow his abundant blessings upon all,” PM Modi conveyed.
Joining the festive sentiment, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended warm wishes to the people of the state. CM Yogi highlighted Dhanteras as a festival symbolizing both Dharma and Artha in Hindu tradition, and as the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health. He expressed hope that the festival would bring happiness, prosperity, and contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended his Dhanteras greetings, urging everyone to foster prosperity, harmony, and environmental consciousness. He wished for homes to be filled with the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and for Lord Dhanvantari to grant good health and longevity. Speaker Birla also called for a collective resolve towards national glory, environmental protection, and social harmony.
Dhanteras is traditionally dedicated to worshipping Lord Ganesha, Goddess Mahalakshmi, and Lord Kuber, considered deities of wealth and prosperity. It is also considered an auspicious day for new purchases. Lord Dhanvantari, the god of Ayurveda, is also revered on this day for his contribution to healing mankind.
