In anticipation of the busy festive period, including Dhanteras, Diwali, and Bhaiya Dooj, the Ghaziabad Traffic Police have announced temporary restrictions on heavy vehicles within the city. These measures will be effective from October 18th to October 23rd, daily between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
Officials explained that this decision aims to alleviate congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow, particularly in market areas that typically experience a significant surge in shoppers and vehicles during festivals.

Specific traffic diversions are in effect: heavy commercial vehicles entering from Lal Kuan will be prohibited. Similarly, vehicles coming from Sajan Mod or the Industrial Area towards Lal Kuan will be rerouted via Atmaram Steel Tiraha and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Additionally, heavy vehicles traveling from Hapur and Delhi via NH-9 will be restricted from entering Ghaziabad city or proceeding towards Bulandshahr.
The traffic police will deploy additional personnel in key areas to manage diversions and parking, ensuring better traffic management. Commuters and transport operators are urged to cooperate with the plan and utilize alternative routes during this period.
The announcement comes as parts of Delhi and its neighboring regions have been experiencing significant traffic jams recently due to increased movement.
