Tejashwi Yadav Pledges Full Employment for Degree Holders in Bihar If Voted to Power

During the second day of his ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra,’ Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav declared that the people of Bihar have committed to forming a government led by the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). He emphatically promised that if elected, his government would prioritize providing employment to every degree holder, ensuring no qualified individual remains jobless in the state. Addressing a rally in the Barh Assembly constituency, the former Deputy Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to job creation, stating that ‘every hand would have work to do.’ In Barh, Mr. Yadav declared, ‘Providing employment to everyone will be my mission. Believe it or not, I assure you I will implement this, as I have already demonstrated during my 17-month tenure.’ He further emphasized his youth and long political career ahead, contrasting himself with ‘Modi ji’ by saying, ‘My hair has not turned grey, and I am not 75-76 years old like Modi ji. Why would I lie? I have a long political journey ahead. Give me just five years, and I will show you how Tejashwi eradicates unemployment permanently.’ Prior to departing Patna, the Leader of the Opposition told reporters that his yatra was receiving overwhelming public support, with thousands consistently turning out in the streets. This ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ specifically focuses on districts that were not covered during the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that the people of Bihar are deeply dissatisfied with the current administration due to escalating corruption and crime, which has made citizens feel unsafe even within their own homes. Upon his arrival in Bakhtiyarpur, RJD MLA Aniruddha Yadav honored him with a gold crown. A vibrant cultural program featuring dancers was organized to attract crowds ahead of his speech. Throughout the Yatra, supporters enthusiastically painted their bodies green and showered flowers from a JCB. Along the route, he received a silver crown and, notably, rode a horse upon entering Mokama, a stronghold of Janata Dal (United) leader Anant Singh. Joined by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav and other MLAs, Mr. Yadav reinterpreted ‘NDA’ (National Democratic Alliance) to mean ‘Nahi Diya Adhikar’ (Not Given Rights). He stated in Barh, ‘For two decades, they have denied Biharis fundamental rights to jobs, employment, education, healthcare, industrial development, basic facilities, and essential services. Now, the public has awakened and is demanding its rights by ushering in a change of power.’ He criticized the Bihar Chief Minister, alleging a lack of original vision and asserting that any promises made, such as increased pensions, domicile implementation, free electricity, and financial aid for women, were simply being adopted from his own agenda. Further attacking the Bihar Chief Minister, Mr. Yadav declared, ‘He is not a Chief Minister but a “Cheat Minister.” He pleaded with us to save his party when the BJP was trying to dismantle it, only to betray us twice. Currently, he seems disoriented and unaware of his surroundings, with only a select few truly governing the state.’ In the Teghra Assembly constituency of Begusarai district, Mr. Yadav engaged with supporters by distributing thousands of ballpoint pens to those who had gathered to hear him speak.
