Actress Shilpa Shetty has decided to retract her application to the Bombay High Court, which sought permission for international travel. The decision came after the court indicated it was hesitant to grant the relief she requested.
Shetty, along with her husband Raj Kundra, had approached the court to contest the ‘Look Out Circulars’ (LOCs) that were issued against them. These LOCs are connected to a substantial cheating case amounting to ₹60.48 crore, initiated by the Mumbai police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
During a court session with Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad, their legal counsel, Advocate Niranjan Mundargi, informed the bench that Shetty would not be pressing her plea. This was due to her travel plans not materializing. Mundargi added that the couple would submit a fresh application for travel permission should they wish to travel in the future.
Previously, Shetty had sought authorization to travel to Los Angeles from October 21st to 24th to attend a YouTube event. Subsequently, she intended to travel to Colombo and the Maldives for business activities related to her hospitality venture, Hotel Bastian.
However, the court had raised questions about the necessity of her travel and requested to review the invitation and agreement details for the events she planned to attend.
