Karnataka’s Medical Education and Skill Development Minister, Sharan Prakash Patil, recently conducted a thorough review of the preparations for the highly anticipated mega job fair scheduled to take place in Mysuru this Friday.
The prestigious event will be officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself, joined by several Cabinet colleagues, at 11 a.m. on Friday. The fair, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is a flagship initiative by the Department of Skill Development, part of a broader mission to ignite an “employment revolution” across Karnataka. Choosing Mysuru, the state’s vibrant cultural capital, to host this division-level mega fair underscores its significance.
Already, a remarkable 24,000 candidates have pre-registered for the fair, which will be held at the spacious Maharaja College Grounds. Minister Patil emphasized the importance of impeccable arrangements, directing officials to ensure all necessary facilities are readily available for every job seeker.
This massive recruitment drive boasts participation from an impressive 221 companies, collectively offering approximately 45,000 diverse job openings. For those candidates who may not immediately secure a position, the department has a forward-thinking plan: their details will be recorded, and they will be provided with tailored skill development training to significantly boost their future employability. Aspiring candidates who haven’t yet registered can still do so directly at the venue on the day of the event.
This isn’t the first success story for the department. Previous efforts include six taluk and district-level job fairs that collectively placed 12,966 individuals, and an additional 1,177 candidates found employment through three specialized job fairs organized in partnership with various colleges, showcasing a consistent commitment to fostering employment across the state.
