M. Lakshman, a spokesperson for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, has leveled accusations against the BJP, stating that the party is intentionally igniting communal discord in Mysuru as the city anticipates its grand Dasara festivities. He implored authorities to initiate strict measures against these leaders.
During a recent press conference, Mr. Lakshman highlighted that specific individuals, notably former BJP MP Pratap Simha, have been persistently criticizing the selection of author Banu Mushtaq for the Dasara inauguration. Lakshman asserted that such criticisms are merely a guise to sow social disharmony and firmly suggested that Mr. Simha should be ‘banished’ from Mysuru until the Dasara festival concludes.
“For the festival and its associated celebrations to proceed without any disturbances, it is absolutely crucial to remove Mr. Simha from the district until October 2, the official conclusion date of the festivities,” Mr. Lakshman emphasized.
He also noted that the Karnataka High Court has already rejected Mr. Simha’s petition concerning the issue, and therefore, the former MP ought to respect the court’s judgment.
