The highly anticipated elections for the Dharwad District Union of Working Journalists (DDUWJ) are officially underway! The election notification has been released, setting the stage for the electoral process to kick off on October 19th.
According to a recent press release from District Election Officer Manoj Patil, candidates eager to serve can begin filing their nomination papers starting October 19th. This crucial period allows prospective leaders to put their names forward.
The deadline for submitting nominations is October 27th. Following this, a thorough scrutiny of all submitted papers will take place on October 28th. Candidates who decide not to proceed with their nomination have until October 30th to withdraw their applications.
Should it be required, polling day is scheduled for November 9th. Members can cast their votes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Patrakartara Bhavan, conveniently located on Lamington Road in Hubballi.
The excitement won’t last long, as vote counting will commence on the very same day, with results being announced promptly thereafter, as confirmed by Mr. Patil.
For all eligible voters, the complete voter list is currently available for verification at the DDUWJ office on Lamington Road. This ensures transparency and allows members to confirm their details.
Any concerns or objections regarding the voter list must be submitted in writing to the Election Officer before Thursday. This is a vital step to ensure a fair and accurate election.
