Vigilance and Enforcement officials, working in close coordination with the Road Transport Authority (RTA), recently conducted a series of unannounced checks on the Rajiv Rahadari (Karimnagar to Peddapalli road). These surprise inspections, carried out during the night of October 13th and 14th, led to the collection of over ₹6 lakh in fines from various goods carriers in the Karimnagar area.
During these rigorous checks, authorities intercepted numerous vehicles. A total of 16 cases were registered under the Motor Vehicles Act, while two additional cases were filed under the Mines Act. The combined tax penalties from these violations reached approximately ₹6.2 lakh.
In a separate, equally significant operation, the Vigilance and Enforcement department’s Warangal unit, assisted by Civil Supplies personnel, conducted an inspection at PVR Agro Industries in Jafergudem, Jangaon district, on October 13th. This inspection uncovered a shocking shortage of paddy: 1,121.28 quintals from the 2022–23 rabi season and a staggering 5,128.95 quintals from the 2024–25 rabi season.
The cumulative value of this substantial paddy shortfall is estimated to be around ₹1.48 crore. This alarming discovery has been formally reported to the District Civil Supplies Officer in Jangaon, who is expected to initiate further stringent action against those responsible.
