Just days after the tragic passing of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, another somber discovery was made on Tuesday, October 14, 2025: Assistant Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar, a member of Rohtak’s Cyber Cell, was found deceased.
Rohtak Superintendent of Police, Surinder Singh Bhoria, confirmed the unfortunate news, stating that a forensic team was immediately dispatched to the scene. He fondly remembered ASI Sandeep as a ‘hardworking’ and ‘honest’ individual, describing him as ‘like a family member’ to the force.
The deceased ASI left behind a poignant four-page note and a six-minute video. These materials contain grave allegations of corruption, directly implicating the late IPS officer Puran Kumar and his family.
Regarding the note and video, which have quickly circulated across social media, Mr. Bhoria stated that these serious claims are now ‘a matter of investigation.’
In his detailed four-page testament, Sandeep, who hailed from Julana in Jind, declared freedom fighter Bhagat Singh as his inspiration. He asserted that his act was the initial ‘sacrifice’ in a broader struggle for justice and truth. Sandeep further accused the late IPS officer of attempting to evade arrest in a corruption scandal by framing his own death with caste and political motives in his personal note.
Within the handwritten note, Sandeep also claimed that while widespread corruption exists among certain IAS officers in Haryana, some honest officials within the Bharatiya Janata Party’s administration had successfully curtailed it to a significant degree.
Sandeep’s note specifically pointed out that Puran Kumar’s powerful connections – his wife being an IAS officer, his brother-in-law an MLA, and other family members holding positions in the Scheduled Caste Commission – likely emboldened him to engage in corrupt practices. The note also brought up the case involving the late IPS officer’s gunman, Sushil Kumar, who faces accusations of extorting money from a liquor trader.
Furthermore, Sandeep expressed support for former Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya, who was transferred following the late IPS officer’s death. Sandeep praised Bijarniya as an ‘honest officer who lived by his salary.’
