In Nagpur district’s Wanadongri Nagar Parishad, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) workers have voiced strong objections to the recently released draft voters’ list for Ward No. 5. The party alleges that over 100 voters are listed at a single address, specifically House No. 01 in Prabhag No. 5, located in Hingna tehsil. A delegation of NCP workers, led by former Zilla Parishad group leader Dinesh Bang, has formally submitted a complaint to the CEO of Wanadongri Nagar Parishad and called for a thorough reverification of the list.
Responding to these allegations, a senior official from the Wanadongri Nagar Parishad clarified that the confusion stems from how voter addition forms (Form No. 6) are processed. When applicants do not provide a house number, data entry operators often use ’01’ or ‘Not Available’ as placeholders. This does not mean that all listed voters reside at the same address or are fictitious. The official emphasized that each application undergoes verification by the Booth Level Officer and the Tehsildar before final inclusion, assuring that there are no bogus voters on the list.
The administration also noted that the objection period for the draft voter list is still open, and individuals with concerns should utilize the established channels for submitting their objections.
