The Election Commission (EC) on Monday, October 13, 2025, officially initiated the second phase of Assembly elections in Bihar. A notification was issued to commence the nomination filing process for this crucial stage, with polling scheduled for November 11.
Candidates for Phase II, which encompasses 122 seats, have until October 20 to file their nominations. The deadline for withdrawing nominations is October 23.
For those following the electoral developments closely, more Bihar election updates were available on October 13, 2025.
The final counting of votes for all 243 seats across the state is slated for November 14.
The Election Commission also confirmed that the randomization process for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) designated for the first phase, set to take place on November 6, has already been successfully completed.
According to a statement from the EC, District Election Officers in all 18 districts participating in Phase I finalized the initial randomization of EVM-VVPATs on October 11. These machines had previously undergone and passed their first-level checking.
This critical first randomization was carried out using the EVM Management System (EMS) and observed by representatives from both national and state-recognized political parties. Following this process, a total of 54,311 ballot units, 54,311 control units, and 58,123 VVPATs were randomly allocated to the 121 constituencies, which collectively include 45,336 polling stations.
Detailed lists of the randomized EVMs and VVPATs, broken down by constituency, were subsequently provided to the representatives of political parties at their respective district headquarters.
These allocated EVMs and VVPATs will now be securely stored in Assembly strong rooms, with the entire process overseen by representatives of the various political parties.
