MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao recently undertook a comprehensive tour across Ongole to personally review the progress of several crucial developmental initiatives underway in the town.
During his inspection, he visited Gandhi Park to assess the ongoing road expansion work, a significant project costing ₹50 lakh. His itinerary also included a detailed examination of the quality of newly constructed cement roads and drainage systems near the KIMS flyover on Guntur Road.
Addressing the media after engaging with the engineers and contractors, the MLA issued clear directives: all projects must be completed ahead of schedule. He also delivered a stern warning to all executing agencies, stressing zero tolerance for corruption and demanding unwavering commitment to quality benchmarks.
The inspection was attended by several prominent figures, including Ongole Urban Development Authority (OUDA) chairman Shaik Reyaz, Mayor Sujatha, Market Yard chairman R. Venkat Rao, and city TDP president Bandaru Madan, among others.
In a heartwarming update, the revered peepal tree (Raavi chettu), which was carefully relocated from Mungamooru Road to Gandhi Park as part of the road widening efforts, has shown promising signs of new life with fresh leaves sprouting at its crown. This positive development has drawn numerous local residents, who gathered to offer prayers to the tree, which holds deep cultural and spiritual significance in the region.
