Kakinada MP Tangella Uday Srinivas recently made a significant pledge: the long-awaited completion of essential hostel buildings at the Rangaraya Medical College (RMC) campus in Kakinada city. This commitment was made on Sunday, October 12, 2025, bringing renewed hope to students and the college administration alike.
It has been revealed that the construction of a G+4 girls’ hostel building, among others, had stalled previously due to a severe shortage of funds. During his visit, Mr. Uday Srinivas, joined by RMC Principal Dr. Vishnu Vardhan and Dr. Anand from the RMC Alumni Association, thoroughly inspected both the unfinished hostel structures and the existing accommodation. He took the time to speak directly with the current hostel residents, gathering firsthand information about their living conditions and the amenities available.
In a subsequent official statement, MP Srinivas disclosed that an estimated ₹35 crore would be necessary to finalize the construction of both the boys’ and girls’ hostel blocks. He further assured that he would actively lobby the A.P. Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation and the Central government to secure the vital funding needed for these crucial educational infrastructure projects.
