Kurnool is gearing up for a significant event as the district police department has initiated comprehensive high-security measures for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit on October 16. A formidable force of 7,300 police personnel will be deployed across the region to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the visit.
During a crucial review meeting held at the police control room in Orvakal on Sunday, Superintendent of Police Vikrant addressed various police officers. He provided detailed briefings to sector officers and liaison officials regarding the meticulous security arrangements, strategies for effective crowd management, and planned traffic diversions.
To manage vehicular movement efficiently, the SP outlined specific traffic rerouting plans. Vehicles originating from Adoni, Emmiganur, and Mantralayam will be redirected through Nagalapuram to the designated Ragamayuri parking area. Similarly, traffic from Dhone, Tuggali, Pyapili, and Pattikonda will utilize the National Highway and Tadakanapalli routes to access their respective parking spots. For those coming from Kurnool city, the route will involve passing the Nannur toll gate to reach allocated parking zones, while visitors from Nandyal, Allagadda, and Banaganapalle will be directed via Nandyal road to the Ragamayuri parking facility.
Mr. Patil further clarified that distinct parking areas have been arranged for government officials and the general public, each clearly marked with signage for easy navigation. Officers have received strict instructions to maintain an elevated state of alert, particularly in the vicinity of VIP and VVIP zones, to ensure maximum security.
Emphasizing the critical aspects of the operation, the SP underscored the paramount importance of effective crowd control, smooth traffic management, and impeccable coordination among all deployed units. The meeting saw the presence of several senior IPS officers, including Parameshwar Reddy, Devaraj, Madhav Reddy, Deepika Patil, G. Krishnakanth, Krishnakanth Patel, along with Additional SPs, DSPs, CIs, RIs, and trainee IPS officers.
