Nandyal and Kurnool districts are buzzing with activity as preparations intensify for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Andhra Pradesh on October 16. District administration and police officials are working tirelessly, overseeing every detail of the arrangements.
Recently, Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing, T.G. Bharath, personally inspected the public meeting venue near Ragamayuri, close to the Nannuru Toll Gate in Kurnool. He confirmed that Prime Minister Modi’s itinerary includes offering prayers at the revered Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam before heading to Kurnool for the public address. Temple authorities at Srisailam are also making extensive preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit to this renowned Jyothirlinga site.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is expected to virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several key development projects planned for the Rayalaseema region. Minister Bharath noted that officials have reported the successful completion of most tasks ahead of schedule.
High-ranking officials, including Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj and Kurnool Municipal Commissioner Vishwanath, along with senior personnel from the revenue, panchayat raj, roads and buildings, and police departments, were actively involved in these crucial inspections.
In Nandyal, Superintendent of Police Sunil D. Sheron conducted detailed checks of the helipad, the temple’s vicinity, guest accommodations, and all road routes leading to Srisailam. Addressing the media, the SP revealed that specialized police units, including Greyhounds and armed forces, have already been deployed to meticulously sweep the surrounding forest areas. The entire Nallamala forest zone is now under stringent surveillance, with check-posts strategically placed at all critical junctions.
Separately, the Kurnool Collector announced in a press release that the routine Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS) session scheduled for October 13 (Monday) has been cancelled due to the Prime Minister’s impending visit to the district.
