Mysuru recently played host to a vibrant leg of the Bharat Maha EV Rally 2025, an exhilarating electric vehicle journey dedicated to championing green mobility across the nation.
Orchestrated by the International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (I-FEVA), this monumental 100-day rally is set to traverse an incredible 21,000 kilometers, connecting 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and 100 cities throughout India. It stands as a powerful testament to the growing commitment towards sustainable transport solutions.
The Mysuru segment of this significant rally was proudly flagged off by MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar. He highlighted how the rally’s core mission perfectly aligns with the Central government’s forward-thinking vision for a modern India, powered by clean and sustainable energy sources.
The MP further noted that since its commencement in Delhi on September 9, the rally has already journeyed through numerous states, effectively spreading the vital message of green energy and showcasing the government’s dedicated efforts to foster sustainable power solutions for a contemporary India.
Having entered Karnataka from Goa on October 6, the rally proceeded to Mangaluru on October 7, arriving in Mysuru on October 8. Its ambitious itinerary from Mysuru includes major cities like Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kanyakumari. Following this, it will head towards Chennai, continuing its expansive journey through states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, and Meghalaya.
The route will then lead the rally into West Bengal, weaving through Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, the scenic Leh region, Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab, before culminating its epic journey back in Delhi.
To date, the 18 dedicated motorists participating in the rally have successfully navigated through seven states. Along their route, they’ve actively engaged with university students, industry leaders, and local communities, passionately educating them about the profound benefits of adopting clean transportation.
Rajeev Mishra, President of I-FEVA, eloquently characterized the rally as a ‘defining moment’ in India’s ongoing pursuit of sustainable mobility.
He emphasized that the rally serves a dual purpose: it’s not merely an endurance challenge for electric vehicles, but also a colossal public awareness campaign. By reaching millions of citizens and uniting academia, industry, policymakers, and the general public, the rally vividly illustrates that India’s shift towards sustainable transport is not a far-off aspiration, but an active, unfolding reality.
With the ambitious target of cutting one billion tonnes of CO₂ emissions by 2030, this rally acts as a powerful collective call to action for everyone – from individual citizens and innovative thinkers to key policymakers, Mr. Mishra asserted. He added that the Mysuru event perfectly encapsulated this national vision, underscoring India’s unwavering dedication to sustainable innovation, responsible environmental management, and the ultimate goal of achieving a carbon-neutral future. The grand rally is scheduled to conclude in New Delhi on December 18, 2025.
