G. Chinna Reddy, the Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, has formally addressed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with a pressing request: the immediate establishment of a dedicated corporation for the recruitment of outsourced employees in Telangana.
In his communication, Mr. Reddy vividly outlined the severe challenges faced by thousands of outsourced personnel working within various government departments. He emphasized that these workers are often subjected to exploitation by private agencies responsible for their recruitment.
Mr. Reddy’s letter detailed how these private recruitment agencies frequently fail to provide essential benefits such as Provident Fund (PF) and Employee State Insurance (ESI) to their employees. Furthermore, they are often found deducting a significant portion—nearly 20%—from the workers’ legitimate wages. Adding to their woes, salary payments are frequently delayed, causing considerable hardship.
To bolster his appeal, Mr. Reddy highlighted a relevant precedent: the Uttar Pradesh government’s recent decision to form a similar corporation for outsourced employee recruitment, structured under the Companies Act 2013. He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to consider this successful model.
The ultimate goal of Mr. Reddy’s request is to establish a robust framework in Telangana that can effectively protect the fundamental rights and interests of its many outsourced employees, ensuring they receive the dignity and fair treatment they deserve.
