The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway is stepping up to alleviate the usual festive and weekend travel crunch by introducing special tri-weekly MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) train services. These new trains are specifically designed to manage the increased passenger flow between Mysuru and Bengaluru during weekends and the much-anticipated Deepavali festival.
Operating every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, these special MEMU services will run from October 10 to October 31. Passengers can look forward to a total of 10 trips in each direction between Ashokapuram and KSR Bengaluru stations, significantly boosting connectivity.
For those traveling from Bengaluru, Train No. 06213, the KSR Bengaluru – Ashokapuram MEMU special, will depart KSR Bengaluru at 12:15 p.m., arriving in Ashokapuram at 3:40 p.m. on the same day.
Conversely, Train No. 06214, the Ashokapuram – KSR Bengaluru MEMU special, will depart Ashokapuram at 4:10 p.m., reaching KSR Bengaluru by 8:00 p.m. on the same day.
These convenient services will make stops at numerous stations along the route, ensuring broader accessibility for commuters. The designated halts include Krishnadevaraya Halt, Nayandahalli, Jnana Bharati Halt, Kengeri, Hejjala, Bidadi, Ketohalli, Ramanagaram, Channapatna, Settihalli, Nidaghatta Halt, Maddur, Hanakere, Mandya, Yeliyur, Byadarahalli, Pandavapura, Shrirangapatna, Naganahalli, Mysuru, Chamarajapuram, and Ashokapuram.
Each of these special MEMU trains will consist of eight modern coaches, providing ample capacity for passengers during this busy period.
