The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) announced on Saturday, October 11, 2025, the cancellation of a crucial graduate-level recruitment examination. This decision comes in the wake of widespread allegations of a paper leak that caused significant unrest across the state.
Authorities have confirmed that a new examination will be conducted within the next three months, with an official date to be released shortly. UKSSC Chairman G.S. Martolia officially stated that the graduate-level examination, originally held on September 21 to fill various government department positions across the state, has been definitively cancelled.
The controversy erupted after three pages of the question paper were reportedly leaked from an examination center in Haridwar during the September 21 test. This incident sent shockwaves across Uttarakhand, affecting over 100,000 candidates who had appeared for 416 available posts.
The alleged leak triggered massive protests from aspiring candidates, organized under the banner of the Uttarakhand Unemployed Union. Responding to the public outcry and calls for accountability, the state government has since recommended a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the matter.
