The manufacturing sector is poised to be a cornerstone in Telangana’s ambitious journey to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047. This critical role was emphasized by a senior state government official during a recent Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conference in Hyderabad.
Addressing the ‘Man’Exe-2025’ conference, organized by CII Telangana, IT and Industries Secretary Sanjay Kumar highlighted the state’s consistent strong performance in industrial growth. Telangana is actively working to double its contribution to the national GDP, from the current 5% to an impressive 10%.
Kumar underscored Telangana’s significant advancements in enhancing the Ease of Doing Business, launching innovative skilling programs, and developing world-class infrastructure. The state’s dedication to its $3 trillion economic goal is evident in its latest initiatives, which include a global-standard AI Hub, a new Skill University, and specialized industrial parks for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and women entrepreneurs. These efforts solidify the government’s commitment to driving innovation, ensuring high quality, and promoting inclusive growth across the manufacturing landscape.
The conference, themed ‘Building Resilience: Overcoming Disruptions and Ensuring the Future Growth of Manufacturing,’ also featured insights from various industry leaders. They discussed the immense benefits and inherent challenges of integrating emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing the necessity of collaborative efforts to fully harness these opportunities.
Bhuvan Lodha, CEO of Mahindra Group’s AI Division, pointed out that Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a concept being explored. It has transformed into a critical tool, essential for boosting productivity and quality, and optimizing supply chains and overall operations within the manufacturing domain.
