In Hassan, Karnataka, the sacred gates of the Hasanamba Temple swung open on October 9th, marking the beginning of its much-anticipated annual festival. By Friday morning, October 10th, hundreds of eager devotees from across the state had already gathered, braving a heavy downpour, to witness the auspicious ‘darshana’ of the revered goddess Hasanamba.
The scene at the temple was vibrant, with long, winding queues forming in the early hours as pilgrims patiently awaited their turn. Revenue Minister Krishna Byregowda, who also oversees the Hassan district, was present to personally inspect the meticulous arrangements made by the administration for the throngs of visitors. He was accompanied by DC K.S. Lathakumari and SP Mohammed Sujeetha, among other officials.
