Mysuru, a city renowned as India’s ‘yoga hub,’ is once again at the forefront of the nation’s yoga movement, proudly hosting the 50th National Yoga Sports Championships. The prestigious event officially commenced on Thursday at the serene Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashram, drawing participants from every corner of the country.
The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent personalities, including Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swami of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, who formally opened the championships. He was joined by Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, MLA G.T. Deve Gowda, Datta Vijayananda Swami, and Ashok Kumar Agarwal, the esteemed President of the Asian Yoga Federation, among other dignitaries.
This significant national gathering is meticulously organized by the Yoga Federation of India, with strong local support from the Karnataka State Amateur Yoga Sports Association, the Global Yoga Forum, and numerous other dedicated yoga schools and institutions throughout Mysuru. The championships promise days of inspiring performances and will culminate on October 12.
